Can you explain me again how to make the eggplants without the barbecue? I couldnt understand it and would LOVE to make this as it is one of my favourites!

I put them in the oven (200-220°) for like half an hour or till they get all wrinkled. The inside should feel soft when you put a sharp knife into it.
You could also put them under the oven grill, that should work too.

Or, like Aslı says, grill them on your hotplate, but I can very well imagine this can get very messy indeed

What's a hot plate?

The oven idea sounds fine to me You dont need to fry them first in that case, değil mi?

Ahh.. the electric one of the stove? Unfortunately I dont have one, which really sucks because my gaz tüp is finished so I cant even cook electric! But Kadir has one.. I should use theirs.. beause we have the rule.. the one who cooks doesnt have to do the dishes

No you don't.

Nothing beats the bbq though.. but that's no option here either at this moment

Ahh thats great then. Will try next week hopefully! Well, here you can barbeque, but as long as we're not going for the whole evening out, I wont bother. We once barbecued fish on the small kitchen balcony. It took hours to get the first layer of oil and coal away So not gonna do that again!
