300 gr. mince
1 onion
2 patatoes
2 tomatoes
2 fistfull rice
parsley
salt blackpepper cumin

wash the rice, grate onion, chopp parsley add salt pepper and cumin. Make an even mix and make balls, like walnut size. Put some olive oil on a pan, carefully put the meatballs and fry some. Cut the patatoes like thick french fries and add them on pot. Grate tomatoes pour into pot. Cover the lid, cook it mid glow for 5 min. Add 250 ml. hot water cook for 30 min. in low glow. Bon apetite

if you use a slice of old bread instead of rice, you can fry them and add precooked tomato sauce on it. That would be completely different taste with same ingredents.

This sounds good but I am curious as to what holds the balls together? Is the rice cooked before mixing with the other ingredients?

The meat does.
And the rice gets cooked while the pot is covered, during those 30'.
