I have been slacking the last months since my arm has been in plaster, but i did have a nice BBQ party a few weeks ago.
I served beef köfte (Bosna style), chicken şiş, garlic roasted potatos, çoban salatasi, Patlican Salatasi (roasted eggplant), caçik and açili ezmesi. Of course we also had a few bottles of Yeni Rakı and lots of Molson Canadian.

Your typical outdoor bbq but looking for some new ideas...
Anyone?

Is your Patlican Salatasi (roasted eggplant) similar to Baba Ganouj?

Have you ever tried Paella? It's a Spanish dish, but I've served it to some Turks with good response. It is also pretty simple to make as all is done in one pot.

There are many variations. I use sucuk instead of Spanish sausage.

It's a rice dish:

Rice
saffron
capers
tomatoes
bell peppers
sausage of some sort
chicken pieces with the skin on
some type of fish, could be scallops or shrimp.

Another nice dish is gaspacho....of course don't put in the ham.
