I think there are good news for those who want to buy property in Turkey,
this is what I saw today on www.letsgototurkey.com

"FINAL NEWS
FOREIGNERS ARE ALLOWED TO PURCHASE PROPERTY IN TURKEY
The law is published in Official Newspaper. Starting from 16th of January 2006, foreigners who purchased properties earlier, will begin receiving title deeds, and new applications will be accepted by the Title Deed Office.

Breaking News:
--06/01/06 - The last step needed for the completion of the law has been fulfilled, the President Ahmet Necdet Sezer has approved the law at 17:30 pm enabling foreigners to purchase property in beautiful Turkey, congratulations."

Just to clarify further, foreigners are allowed to own property in Turkey. (I own my flat in Istanbul) and would like to buy a holiday home in Antalya. Mortages are complex because of Turkey's high inflation rate. Most homes (99.99%?) in Turkey are purchased cash in full with USD or Euros.
