Can somebody answer some questions concerning traveling from İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to İzmir by either bus or train?

- Are there transfers all night long to Harem otogar? What would they cost?
- What would a taksi from SG to Harem otogar approximately cost and would it be safe in the night as a young blonde woman alone?
- Is there a train connection from İstanbul to İzmir and if so, where is the trainstation in İstanbul?

Im hopin gthere are transfers to Harem all night so that I can find a bus to İzmir there, preferably from Nilüfer or Kamil Koç, but I cant find information.

Thanks in advance.

I advise = You can go to İzmir from İstanbul by VARAN TURİZM BUS.It takes 8 hours.Nearly 40-50 YTL.
You can easily find VARAN BUS from the BUS STATION (OTOGAR) or VARAN Offices in İstanbul districts(Taksim, Şişli, Mecidiyeköy, Beşiktaş, Ataköy, bakırköy, Sarıyer, Kadıköy,Ataşehir,Bostancı, Üsküdar, etc), ( I prefer TAKSİM-
Gümüşsüyu or ATAKÖY-Atrium or ATAŞEHİR)...

You can of course find a lot of buses (ULUSOY, KAMİL KOÇ,NİLÜFER,BOSS, PAMUKKALE, HAKİKİ KOÇ, etc) from HAREM İSKELESİ (İSTANBUL) to İZMİR easily at the same time...

My advise=VARAN TURİZM BUS for a lady like you...

But how do I get there from Sabiha Gökçen, that is the question?

Varan is a good company too, right?

My advice is you take a taxi from the Airport, either to bus or train station...Taksi driver will know both..

The trick is to board onward to Izmir at an intelligent time, such that your arrival to Izmir will not be at some stupid hour of the night...take care.

Norwegians were very sad, they almost cried !

SABİHA GÖKÇEN AİRPORT is in the ANADOLU YAKASI (ANADOLU DISTRICT)of İSTANBUL..You can go to KADIKÖY, ÜSKÜDAR, ATAŞEHİR, BOSTANCI etc for any VARAN BUS TURİZM offices or HAREM by a domestic bus, a taxi or Dolmuş (Shared taxi) easily. But to closest VARAN TURİZM BUS OFFİCE or HAREM İSKELESİ OTOBÜS DURAĞI-HAREM İSKELESİ BUS STATİON) easily...
Ask anybody or policeman there "How can I go to closest "VARAN OTOBÜSÜ OFİSİ?" -VARAN BUS OFFICE".
Tell the Bus driver or taxi driver "Take me to any closest "VARAN OTOBÜSÜ OFİSİ".
VARAN OFFICE will take you with its service to the bus station from İstanbul to İzmir...

Thanks.

Ill ask around at the airport for services to Harem. In Harem I can find, been there before.

Time of arrival in İzmir is no problem as I will be picked up from there, but I hope to take a bus at 6 in the morning.

Thank you both!

Sounds as if you are a salesman for Varan

I know that varan is really good, but they are really expensive. I would have to pay 54YTL whereas with Nilüfer I'd only pay 35YTL and they are really trustworthy too for as far as I can judge. I will see what I can afford and will base my choice upon that.

How much will a taksi to the busstation Harem cost approximately? Does anyone know?

İ was at Sabiha Gökçen really early in the morning the other day and there are buses going to İstanbul. As far as I can tell (actually never gone from SAW to Istanbul merkez) is that the airport is pretty far from the city so a taxi will probably be quite expensive. I always avoid taxis when İ can because İ find that its pretty safe to go with public transportation but İm sure you know that already

Ok.. maybe I should consider to go to the Avrupa Yakası and go to a bus office in the city-centre early in the morning. I indeed realized there were buses.

But since I have to go to Anadolu yakası anyway, I thought it would be better to go to Harem terminalı immediately, as it will save nearly 2 hours of traveling time upon a trip of 10 hours in the bus!

But thanks, Ill look into it when Im there
