I've been looking all over the internet for a site where a total beginner can learn some basic Turkish!!

There are quite a few sites out there but this is the best one I've seen so far ... good job and thanks for going to the trouble ...

I agree. Its a wonderful site. I am learning Turkish because my daughter has a Turkish boyfriend (who speaks good English by the way) and I have a Turkish 'son' who also speaks good English. We all text/write/phone and email each other all the time. The relationships are very good and very special.

By the way. I have discovered that a good 'tool' for improving pronunciation and reading generally is to sing Turkish songs - My God you should hear me sing Simarik! If you get the lyrics and sing along to the songs it is very helpful (even if you don't know what the song is about!!!) My favourite at the moment is 'Neredesin' by Ismail YK!

Thanks so much to the people who manage this site.
