Have you seen or heard about this new Turkish movie called 120?

A friend offered me to go this movie. He said "I watched once and I get very excited and upset because of the story. It is very touching and real story about the Turkish history in 1915, just before the independence war of Turkey. I want to watch it again."

It is a true story of 120 boys between 12-17 aged. It sounds like they chose the name from 300 Spartans

I am curious about that movie. I will share my thoughts after I watch

You may watch the trailer in the website of the movie in English:

Yes, I am sure it is a sad story. I read that there is a statue in Van about them: 120 boys.

Thank you caliptrix,

I found another link about this film. It has a youtube clip though, but some others may be able to see it.

On The True Story Of 120 Young Boys Of Van In 1915

There were a lot of boy soldiers during WWI.

If you put in child soldier in the search box and then click on #2, you see many photos of boy soldiers.

How tragic it is that in the thousands of years of human existance we have not found a better way to resolve our differences.

Imagine if we devoted a fraction of our human ingenuity in inventing new weapons to figuring out how to resolve our differences peacefully...or at least with out the massive devestation currently visited on the innocent during current warfare technology.

i watched te film... its very touching. a country in which almost every family lost their son or father after all those long war years. balcan war, first world war. ottomans fighted in many places and most of the soldiers were from anatolia. So especially muslim families(christians and jews do not have to go military service)lost their male adult members. So in the last war for the last part of thecountry is done mostly with the help of those young soldiers.

this is told in this film. Being helpless while sending your young son,may be the last son who is alive to save the last part of the country. there should not be wars and it must be watched that film and we should thank those young people for giving their life to give an independent country, though we are so dependent right now.

Warning: if u dont wana cry u shouldnt go this movie
