Geceye Uzayan Saçlar
The Hair Growing into the Night

Erik ağaçlarına rüzgar vuruyordu
Geceydi, soğuktu, ay donuktu
Sözlerin yakamozlanıyordu kulaklarımda
Avare bir dünya akıyordu ayaklarıma
Fasılasız yürüyordum gecenin öptüğü sokaklarda

The plum trees were swinging with the wind
It was night, cold and the moon was blurred
Your words were like phosphorescence in my ears
An idle world was flowing towards my feet
I was walking, without pausing, on the streets that the night kisses

Sen, uğruna umutlar ektiğim mevsimdin
Ölüm kadar soyluydu
Seninle aynı pencereden seyretmek denizi
Güneşi gözlerinde süzmek
Ve mehtabı selamlamak saçlarında
Oysa kapılar ardından sert sesler yükseliyordu
Dalından koparılıyordu sevgi yaprakları
Defter sayfalarından silinirken adın
Kardelenler apansız kuruyordu
Geceydi, soğuktu, ay donuktu
Erik ağaçlarına rüzgar vuruyordu

You were the season, for the sake of which I planted hopes
It was as noble as death
To watch the sea from the same window with you
To filter the sun through your eyes
And to greet the moonlight in your hair
However, loud voices were raising up behind the doors
The leaves of love were being plucked from their branches
While your name was fading away in the pages
Snowdrops were dying untimely
It was night, it was cold and the moon was blurred
The plum trees were swinging with the wind

Bir volkan taşıyordun avuçlarında, bir de bahar
Mazi köklü âtiydi yüreğinde kök salan
Yıldızlardan meşaleler devşiriyordun sevdam için
Süreyyamsı taçlar yolluyordun…
Benimse uğursuz gecelere uzuyordu saçlarım
Simsiyah bulutlar örüyordu ufkumu
Sularda raks eden yıldızım sönüyordu
Fırtınaya tutsak bir şilepti hatıran
Ruhumda sığınacak liman arıyordu
Geceydi, soğuktu…
Erik ağaçlarına rüzgar vuruyordu

You were holding a volcano in your hands and the spring
In your heart was a future based in the past, which was rooting
You were collecting for my love flambeaues of stars
You were sending the Pleiades-like crowns
And my hair was growing in ill-omened nights
Jet black clouds were covering my horizon
My star was fading away, which had been dancing in waters
Your memory was a towboat trapped in the storm
Seeking a harbour in my soul
It was night, it was cold
The plum trees were swinging with the wind

Bitmedi diyordun, bitmedi diyordun
Gece gidiyordu, sen gidiyordun
Yağmur olup toprağa düşÃ¼yordu gözyaşların
Ufukları kaplıyordu müjdeli kanatların
Derinlerde patlarken umut tohumları
Zaman altın iklimin zilini kuruyordu
Lakin soğuktu…
Erik ağaçlarına rüzgar vuruyordu

You were saying that it didnt finish, it didnt finish
The night was leaving, you were leaving
Your tears were dropping on soil like raindrops
The horizons your wings of joyful tidings were covering
While seeds of hopes were springing in depths
The alarm of the golden season the time was setting
However, it was cold...
The plum trees were swinging with the wind
