"There is an urgent need of active consideration on the issue of Honor Killing, About Thousands of women are killed in the name of so called honor each year, where as thousands cases are not even registered and are kept silent.

Two days back I went to attend a launching of a report by a well known organization Aurat Foundation in Karachi, on the cases of Violence against Women. The report showed cases of VAW from January 2008 to March 2008, and the numbers were shocking. It is quite heartbreaking to see that in merely three months about hundreds of women are, burned, sold, abused, assaulted, raped and Killed.

The reported cases of Honor Killing were about 80 and various others that are remained indoors. What could a nation be called when only in three months hundred of women are killed by a tradition which has no realities, only a personally created mindset of inhuman people?

Where are the concerned authorities?

Where is the law?

Where is justice? "

Were talking Pakistan..the country is crazy..
This is the same country who's government has supplied sensitive nuclear weapons technology, to North Korea, Iran and Libya and some even believe a nuclear armed al-Qaida could be brewing.

The U.S. was worried about Iraq, I think we should be more concerned with Pakistan who holds nuclear arsenal..

So you ask where is the concerned authorities? I don't think your going to find too many government officials who
are willing to interviene with honor killings, as sad as that is.

as far as I know, the nuclear records of these countries are much better than of America, none of them has nuked Hiroshima and Nagazaki at least. so why shouldn`t they posses nukes when America does? and what does this have to do with honor killings? and why are you accusing just Pakistan of these honor killings? It happens in Turkey too, but I guess catwoman prefers ignoring them since they stem from the south east.

As far as you know? Well maybe that's the problem, you may want to research your history. #1 The alternative instead of bombing Hiroshima was to lead a mainland ground invasion. As a result would have lead to millions of deaths a great deal more than resulted from our bombings an estimated 1 million deaths including our allies #2 The bombings resulted as an end to the war. If this wouldn't of taken place the war would have gone on for many more years and many more Americans would have died. #3 The Japs committed to fighting to the very end, they would have NEVER surrendered.#4 Lastly, who started the war? Japan

If you think America is more dangerous with nucs than Pakistan, I really pity you.

Obviously, you missed my point that was relevant to the original post. Pakistan has partially a crooked government, why in the world would honor killings be of any concern to them. Obviously, it isn't if 80 in the last 3 months have occured. You are dealing with people who are just as guilty by association as well as sending a message to the public loud and clear, it's permissable by them.

If you would like to discuss Turkey's honor killings, feel free. But the post as I recall was regarding Pakistan.

This argument is outdated, unfortunately. Today it`s well known that America was more concerned with testing the nuclear bombs than ending the war, besides America had known that the Japanese would have resigned sooner or later even without the nukes.

If the main objective had been ending the war without any loss why didn`t America do the same thing to the Germans? (you wouldn`t expect them to test the nukes on the European Christians, would you?)

and no matter what, using nuclear weapons is barbaric when there isn`t a nuclear threat against you.

I think America is more dangerous with nukes than any other country you can name. It`s followed by Russia. They were about to blow the whole world off in the Cuban misille crisis.

Sure you can discuss about the honor killings in Pakistan, I have nothing against this. I was just wondering why catwoman never mentions about the honor killings in Turkey. That`s one thing she avoids discussing about. guess why?

Right, the US cannot be any danger to the world, because the world is the US.

I just can't believe how bitter, paranoid and delusional you are. I bet you spend all your days looking for the things you want to see.

Tamidakika - do scan our archives, I'm sure you'll find threads about honour killings in Turkey. You know, this forum is not a few months old, lots of topics have been discussed. And I recall discussing the subject you feel is neglected as well

Old excuse? What the hell “lets just see if these bombs work” that’s almost laughable Tamik. If you are convinced that Japan would have surrenderd then you haven't read your history. Haven't you heard of the infamous "comacozies". Their philosphy was a religous honor to die for their emperor. If Japan would have attacked we were risking millions of lives. They gave us no alternative.

Several reasons why we didn't nuke the Germans. First of all they had surrendored and secondly the bombs weren't even tested until AFTER they had surrendored. So what does christianity have anything to do with?

It seems you have some deep aggression towards christianity from some of your posts, you appear to keep harping on it.

Also, going back once again to honor killings. Please feel free to share information on honor killings in Turkey. I don't know why catwoman would have a problem with this at all.
