Has anyone travelled to Turkey by car? We want to go via france on the ferry with the car and travel to Turkey. Just wondered if anyone else had done this.Any idea how much it would cost in petrol??? Any definate places to see on the way? Any experiences or wisdom to be passed on? Thanks

I have never traveled to Turkey by car, but drive in Turkey quite often. The major cities are a bit rough, but the major highways are actually quite nice (at least in the western part of the country).

I don't think I would dare to drive in Turkey. It stresses me out too much, getting honked at every 2 seconds lol I'm from a very small Island so we don't have any dual carriage ways or motorways , so driving in a big city would freak me out. Especially while trying to drive on the other side.
