Turkish Proverbs

Günaydın arkadaşlar!!!!

I´m trying to remember a turkish proverb-it goes like

"Βir insan bir lisan"

or

"Bir lisan bir insan" ?

I think it´s meaning is that learning different languages is like being a different person...or something like that!

Merhaba Delidolu,

That proverb is "Bir lisan bir insan"

And there is also: "Bir dil bir insan, iki dil iki insan"

Literally tanslation is "One language, one person". That means: if you know one language you are a person; but if you know two languages, you are two persons. When you learn more than one language, you also learn another culture. And that makes you another person.
