Quoting lady in red

I would have answered this earlier but the whole Muğla area has had ınternet problems for the last 2 days.

Ros has had pm´s so many times we have lost count.

Half means 50% or 10/20.  I just checked my last 20 posts - most were translation related - 4 related to being a mod - 1 to Trudy and 3 to Roswitha.  One other was to let people know that I had not deleted Sam1´s post.  I´m sorry if you think this is excessive moderating - obviously people don´t want to read these posts, they would much rather have time to read endless posts from The Train People.

Modify:  Trudy just informed me that she thought my post to her was humour and nothing to do with moderating - so make that 3/20!

The train people!   Well let me describe them to you!

The are incredibly childish tribe of small people who live in an old disused railway carriage. They have a stack of train spotting magazines in one corner, (needed to stand on when reaching the sink, or kitchen stove) complete with a brass rubbing of a famous trains name plaque "The Flying Scotsman".  In another corner they have a little pile of coal, ready to make a little fire to send their respective trains puffing along with more nonsense.  Because they are so small they are difficult to control and they actually live in their own little fantasy world where steam is very important.  Ohhhhh and they seem to be able to produce an incredible amount of steam.

And as for those complaining about the moderating, I guess you could all do so much better.......................... but of course, you would need some training!

Sorry , but I forgot the hugs and kisses ({#lang_emotions_puking})

Amazing - even Mods follow the Turkish tradition of not being able to take criticism

Nice comments LL! Would love to describe the "Mods" in a similarly metophoric way, but I am sure it would be deemed unacceptable!  One rule for you, another for us it seems ......

I have no wish to "do better" - I am commenting about over-moderating, which kills discussion.  Catwoman seems to take a much more tolerant attitude to it and allows topics to "breathe".

 İf she agrees with you AE then she is able to take criticism,if she is not,then she is labeled by NOT being able to take criticism ?!

Forum rules

11. If you don’t agree with a moderator send a Private Message to the moderator or to one of the administrators instead of posting in the forum. Such posts may be deleted

Your psots as you see havent been deleted,so you call that not being able to take criticism ?!

We didnt put the rules AE,admin did,we were the one who has been asked to keep them only

Every member has to accept those rules in order to be a member at TLC,so its something we all have accepted,members,and mods

So,when members dont follow the rules,and mods point that out,you criticise mods for that ?!

İf we dont apply one rule,then why should we apply the other ?

İf we let the thread breath for that post/member by not applying the rules on it,why should we do with other posts/members ?

Are some members better than others ?

We will get that question BELİEVE ME.

Or do you think its better if we dont apply the rules at all ?!

İf we dont see things the way you see it AE then you accuse them/us of note being able to take the criticism ?

We dont have to agree with you AE to be able to take it

We try to apply the rules for all members at same ways,so no one would feel some have privileges over the others.

 Slow, deep breaths are much more healthy than taking in huge gulps of air too quickly.

 A moderate strength inhaler may help your difficulty.

The unfortunate thing is that moderating is subject to interpretation, there is no science to it. What offends one mod may make another laugh. There has to be some form of moderation and yet there also has to be allowance for discussion. And even though I have had my disagreements with some mods here, I do think most of them are trying to be fair in what they have taken on. It is not something I would want to do as it seems to be a pretty thankless job….and I do love being praised!!{#lang_emotions_wink}

I do think it would be nice for discussions to be allowed to progress organically. Let them grow and build and evolve without too much interference………even if that discussion makes some people uncomfortable.

Mods, despite my jokes, we do love you and you do a great job.... but PLEASE PLEASE don´t kill this site with your constant nagging and questions.

If you feel a topic is in the wrong section, why not just move it instead of writing a post asking if we can predict which way the discussion might go??! (LIR ). If you dont like the way Roswitha writes her posts, why not send her a PM? (CANLI!)

Just a quick look at CANLI and Lady in Red´s last 20 posts shows that HALF of their posts concern moderation matters - don´t do this, don´t do that, don´t write in this way, don´t write that way..... Aggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Can you imagine how annoying it would be if you were having a face to face discussion and somebody was constantly saying this? {#lang_emotions_head_bang}

Kisses x

I have been away for some time so I am not very well aware what has been going on here lately. If you have complaints about a moderator - please send me a PM with an explanation.

The Moderators have been moderating and dealing with pms I presume.  No problem.

Thank you Canlı, Lady in Red and LibraLady, you´ve been doing a great job and threw in a little humour too.
