The  so called mercy tables of  Egypt’s are a most ubiquitous feature during Ramadan, they are a means through which this country’s Muslims try to deepen this faith.

With soaring food prices, free iftar meals are the only solace for poor Egyptians.

Question: Can somebody please inform me, do they  also exist in Turkey?

Ramazan is mercy month so you can see the reflections of that with a different version on every Muslim countries depend on their own traditions i think and ´´İftar Çadırı´´ is the most common helphing method on Turkey, and thsitents has a great sensation athmospher..´´Komşusu açken tok yatan bizden değildir-They are not from us who is sleeping in comfort while their neighbour suffering in hunger´´,i think this words enough nice quide for all of us to share more and more.BTW hi again to all TC users after ong time

I still don´t know what İftar Çadırı is and what these tents are all about...

"İftar" is the time when you break your fast and eat. In these tents there are meal offered to people for iftar.

You mean it´s the evening meal or when someone breaks the fasting during the day?

When people break their fast

At the dusk.

Those tents serve meals for people, for anyone, the poor, the one who is travelling, the one who was going home and Ezan called and its time to break his fast

Anyone can sit and eat,as MrX has said,no one will feel hungry in ramazan,no one will eat knowing that there are some people who cant afford to eat and break their fast

Ohh,i wish all days would be like this, not only in Ramazan!

Thank you for your explanation, MRX67 and Welcome back!

Recently I was invited to a free Ramadan Dinner after sundown.

These Iftar dinners are they just for the poor only or also for the general public?
