I wonder if falafel is an Ottoman dish after all !!!

Lebanon is planning on filing an international law suit against Israel for violating a food copyright, Fadi Abboud, president of the Lebanese Industrialists Association, told the al-Arabiya network.

Abboud explained that the fact that Israel has been marketing Lebanese delicacies under the same names and ingredients around the world has caused great losses to Lebanon, and that while, “the full extent is unknown, it is estimated at tens of millions of dollars annually.”

 ...etc etc etc

It´s true that falafel is popular in arabic countries and so is yalanci yaprak dolma sarma baklava etc etc

Many dishes were inherited from the ottoman era; it would be interesting  to know from which region they originated.

I know for sure that knafeh (künefe) that is famous in antakya  originated in Nablus Palestine.

"Do not dismiss the dish saying that it is just food. The blessed thing is an entire civilization itself!” Abdulhak Þinasi
