What do YOU think a feminist is? Are you a feminist yourself? (And CW, don´t deny it!!)

Trudy canim, this is weak for me. I´ve watched this video million of years ago, I even have a video by this director in my profile.

And why would I deny that I´m a feminist and that I encourage feminism? It´s like not being proud of being a thinking person!

I think that one of the big reasons why feminism is so feared and heatedly rejected is that in its foundations it is a threat to the status quo, it is a radically different way of looking at the world that challenges all the dominant ideologies. It threatens the traditional religious, patriarchal, capitalistic sex-exploitational ideological foundations of our societies. It identifies very correctly (hence the power and threat it brings) that our societies are not as civilized as we believe they are because they still are based on exploiting women (but not only women).

Sexism is inherent in all major religions and in our western capitalism. It is a central part of them which reminds us that we are still tribal societies that want to believe they are fair and just, but we know they are based on the ´fairness only through power´ rule.
