Can anyone help? I am trying to upload some photos of Turkey onto the TC site. I get a message saying file size is invalid (? too big) so how do I make them smaller?? Just normal photos taken on a digital camera - would cropping them a bit help?

Thanks to anyone who knows what they´re doing, ´cos I don´t!!!  {#lang_emotions_unsure}

You can try compressing the pictures first before you crop them. I don´t know what program you´re using, I´m using Microsoft Office Picture Manager and in that program, all you need to do is go to "Pictures" and then choose "Compress Pictures" - once you click on that a menu will come up and you can choose "Compress for Web Pages". Of course you´d need to save the compressed version in order to upload it later.

I hope that helps.

Using the same program you can also resize your images.......select ´Edit Picture´ from the toolbar and click resize on the right hand panel.

Digital cameras take massive images by default - it might be worth turning down the resolution on your camera if you know you are taking the image to upload.

Yeah.. you can just go to "paint" (program) and go to image --> resize/skew, choose a percentage of the current photo you want the new one to be and save the new picture.

Paint is not a good program for manipulating images - but it will do at a push if nothing else is available.........and you can be pretty certain everyone has Paint as it installs with all versions of Windows.
