Hello everybody...

I'm Greek with turkish girlfriend, and thinking of moving to Istanbul. I wonder, is it easy to find fresh pork meat to cook in your house (not only ham, bacon etc)? After 10 visits in Turkey I have realized that turkish people dont eat pork at all (due to Muslim religion) and you can hardly find only in some western type restaurants in Istanbul.

Hi Dimitri,

You are right eating pork in turkey is not a common thing. But if you live asround Sisli/Etiler then you can find pork even at groceries (e.g.Makro Center Market) As you may know there christian minority in Istanbul and they can find pork so why not you?

Wow I'm always surprised, still, by Greek-Turkish loves. But maybe they are becoming more common these days. And why not? They go great together if you ask me
