I recently went to Mersin/Içel and I had a Mersin speciality. It was basically a large slice of yellow cheese which was deep fried until it was all golden and crispy on the outside and then it was put on a plate with lots of syrup poured over it. It sounds strange, but was absolutely delicious. I also had some kind of crispy biscuit/cake type things which contained chopped pistachios and honey. These were served with whipped cream. We ate until we were nearly sick and then had to drink lots and lots of tea to wash away the sweetness. Mmmmm....çok lezzitli!
Does anyone recognise these puddings and know the name. We ate them in a 'pudding shop'
