I'll be leaving the US for Türkiye in July. I couldn't be more excited!! My entire extended family lives in Türkiye and I am thrilled to finally meet them. I have one question though, is it acceptable to say that I'm a Christian while I'm staying in Türkiye?? I'm not ashamed of my religion at all but I was just wondering if my family would disprove of it, and since this is the first time I'll be meeting them, I would hate to make a bad first impression. Any advice would be wonderful!

They will be more surprised if you say you come from the West and are not christian
I had many surprised reactions on coming from west europe and not being christian actually.

Always be honest..
and don't lie..

Cause what can you say instead of bein christian ?
if you say that you re muslim.. They can easily understand that you re not muslim ..
So tell them that you re christian.. And there won't be any problem. i m Turkish and i have christian - atheist -etc. friends.. Nobody cares about your religion.

Thanks alot!
I know all the formalities that Turkey has and I didn't know if sharing religion was one of them.
