Recently I have been off work for a while and have taken the time to improve the two practice tools that I have written to help with Turish vowel harmony and Turkish vocabulary.   The scoring system for vowel harmony has been improved and, more importantly, the word count for the vocabulary has been significantly increased.

You can find them here

Also on the same site is a keyboard that UK users can install that is the same as the standard UK keyboard except that it allows the Turkish characters to be typed easily.

I hope that others will find these practice tools helpful........

Hi Andreea,

Here is the process to write a request in a separate post.

Firstly, click ´Go!´ to log into the site, and your user name will appear in the ´User Statistics´ box in the right column.

Next, click on ´Forum´ in the left column on the web-page.

You will see another 5 boxes open under Forum.

The next step depends on what you want answered.

- If it is a translation request or translation check, click on ´Translation´

- If it is a question on grammar or a general question relating to understanding Turkish, click on

´Turkish language´

Once you have clicked this box, a list of previous posts displays in the centre column.

Up in the top right side of the centre column you will see a black box with ´Post New Topic´.

Click on this, and a new box displays ´add message to the forum´.

Then type in your heading,

eg ´English to Turkish request´ or ´Translation check´ or ´Past tense question´

Then in the lower box type in the details of your request or problem.

When you are finished, click the ´send´ button.

With translation requests, sometimes a better translation can be given when the words you want translated are also shown in the sentence it was used in.

Eg. ´olsun´ can have several meanings, but if you put ´geçmiş olsun´ it helps the translator to give a more accurate meaning. And if it comes in a sentence, the meaning can be explained more accurately.

As a learner, if you want someone to check your translation, always post what you wanted to say in English, as well as your attempt.

Good luck with your learning! Smile
