Hi everyone, i´m considering moving to Turkey, Istanbul when i finish college, that would be in 2 years. I want to live and work their, I speak arabic, french, english, i take spanish courses and i try to teach myself turkish. So can i find a job in Turkey? Will those languages help me?

Do i have to prepare for something in those 2 years? Is it possible for me to move to Turkey?

Thanks in advance for the help

Best regards!

Hello Nanou and Hadar I’ll answer your enquiry as far as i know. If you want to live in Turkey for a long term i think you would need the appropriate visa. You can get a working visa if you already find a job, or you could go with visitor or touristic visa provided that you clarify your future intention such as looking for job. But probably best think for you to do while you still in your country search for jobs in Turkey over internet.

In regards to what you can do with your languages skills, it depends on what you really want to do and your personal interests, you may work as an interpreter in Truism sectors or also (as far as i know if things haven’t been changed since i left Turkey 11 yrs ago) there are textile sectors that are in very demand of English and German speakers to work as customer representatives, even there are some agencies that matches the foreign customers to the manufacturers. Or may be if you really like languages and willing to dive into the very deep of the beauty of the languages you can do translation.  But in all cases you would need to be able to speak Turkish.  after all that talking  i feel myself like a career adviser!!!Neutral

Anyway good luck with your future plans

Im trying to live in Turkey from 5 years...I wanted to live and work there and I found a family where i worked as babysiter for a child who has diabet ( but i had to do all the jobs, i worked 17 hours/day and i had free just 7 hours on saturday). They made me all legual papers. Was the only legual job that i found it even if i graduated psichology and i speak french, english, spanish and a little turkish (i will not count my romanian, my native language).
