I´ve translated this from the Hebrew since I don´t think anyone here speaks it, but the translation from Hebrew to English is also a bit loose, and I don´t know if it would make sense if I put it literally.  If anyone could help, I´d greatly appreciate it.  Thanks a bunch.

If I forget YOUR image,
let my right hand be forgotten.
YOU are the aspiration
of the heart of my nation/people.
And I will set Jerusalem’s memory
above my highest joy.
When YOU mourn, (I will put) ashes on my head.

I give you my oath with my voice
With my soul and in every language,
To within your walls we will return
Myself, my people, in victory.

whats not clear in this? its a song for jerusalem.. telling how he is missing to get back there.. not only as himself but as a nation, too.. jerusalem has always been a promised dream for jewish people.. a holy land for them.. and as muslims dream about mekkah, jewish people dream about jerusalem.. and he´s promising in this song, he will always have that vision in his/his nations heart.. and they will rejoice with the joy of jerusalem and mourn for its pains.. feeling the soul of the city.. being so close that you become one.. which reminded me a poetry by neruda by the way: "when you close your eyes, i start dreaming"

(just a little info: in jewish culture, putting ashes and dust on your head is a way of showing that you´re mourning for something.. that´s what jacop did when he heard that his beloved son was killed by predatories..)

and on the second paragraph he promises for victorious days to come.. and that dream will be fulfilled..

yüzünü unutursam eðer,

kýrýlsýn bu eller!

sen halkýmýn gönlünün

en büyük emelisin.

ve kudüs´ün anýsýný

en büyük sevincimin üstünde tutarým.

sen yas tuttuðunda,

ben aðlarým!

sesim çýktýðýnca,

candan ve bilinen her dille sana söz veriyorumki,

tekrar döneceðiz duvarlarýnýn içine

ben ve halkým, zaferle!
