Hello arkadaşlarım could anyone suggest a news website or some articles in an online magazine which is updated daily, to allow me to read everyday for about 5 minutes, in order to enhance my understanding of Turkish.

I am really in pursuit of something basic, as I am still at an elementary stage in learning. I think this could be  mutually beneficial to other learners too, or a new category could be created on TC where a new article appears daily (maybe something worth bringing to the attention of the administrators!

Thank you all for your time.

I am so glad to read your post because I am planning to start a blog next month with easy Turkish texts from magazines, leaflets and brochures with some help to understand.

As soon as I accomplish this I am going to post the page url here.

Till then check this forum:

Hi Bod, good to read that you, one of the site´s veterans, are still active Smile

Petra deleted her original account and I think came back as the user MrsBee.

Her blog is in Hungarian, but there are lots of Turkish elements.

If you´re not aware, the BBC have a useful Turkish language website with articles that have been translated to Turkish. If you select and scroll down the Turkish article, near the end you will come to an İngilizce link to the original English article from which the Turkish was translated.

BBC Turkish Magazine

If you open both the original English and the translated Turkish, you have a handy reference if you get stuck on the meaning of sentences.

çay mı, kahve mi?

tea or coffee?

There are plenty of articles to test your Turkish knowledge.

For ´elementary´ stage I´d also recommend to follow Turkish newspapers on Facebook and Twitter. Also I read Turkish headlines a couple of times a week, you can find them here: http://www.haberler.com/gazeteler/ and here: http://www.gazeteoku.com/gazete-mansetleri.html
