Merhaba!

Can anyone share their experiences of life after military service in Turkey? Or experience of someone you know having changed after military, e.g their personality? Any insight to this subject would be mch appreciated, wether you served yourself in the military, or wether your brother/boyfriend/uncle´s kopek served

And also, is there some kind of psychology assesment for soldiers after the military, wether they served for just 5 months or a longer period of time?

Many thanks in advance,

Katerina

I don´t know about an assesment at the end of the army, but I do know of assesments at the beginning and during the army.

I think the effects of the army are very much determined by the place where a boy/man has been stationed. It makes a difference if you are having to deal with dangerous situations or not.

In any case, what I have noticed from my partner was a light adjustment to freedom Being able to sleep when he wanted to, eat when he wanted to, etc. was a new experience after one and a half years. For him the extra difficulty was that he worked in tourism, and came out of the army mid-way the tourist season. A VERY bad time to be looking for a job. He became a bit disillusioned.

It very much depends on the person.  My husband talks about his military service with pride and tells funny stories with his friends...etc.  I think many of these young men have never been away from home, are very young and have a very hard time adjusting to military life and then dealing with the aftermath.  My husband didn´t do his military service until after he finished his University studies.  I think that makes a big difference as well as the location of where they served.
