It is an interesting discussion.
I would say: Amber, try to remember that first big crush on a teacher or a member of a band when you were a teenager. Do you remember how much passion and heat can a person feel towards another they don´t even know?
If you think or feel like you found someone special, try to get to know him very very good. There is one ultimate tool for it: conversation. Keep the distance, choose the topics wisely. If the emotions stay, you are most likely in love.
...ermmm...good advice...but I think she´s only a teenager now! (who, curiously according to her new profile location info - seems to have suddenly moved from USA to Australia)

What was love? Was it touching, love? Or to be able to love without touching? Was love only to feel your skin´s softness and warmth, or my hope to be able to touch you? Was love living with you, or a life of missing you? Was it to see you without looking, or understanding you without hearing? Was love talking, or being able to feel what you´ll say without talking? Was love to fear of losing you, or to believe that you can love till eternity? Was love smiling each time I see your face, or knowing that you smile each time you remember me? What was love? Was it escaping from everything, thinking that reunion is impossible, or hoping for a reunion chance? Was love feeling pain? Or was it the desire to leave everything and once having left to die.. Was love to flee from the one you love? Or to be able to stand in front of the with your whole heart? was love to make love? Or was it love that created in you the desire to make love, what is this accursed feeling? Was it getting yourself caught up in the eye of a storm? Or to be able to hold the one you love in your hands, despite the most powerful storm... Was it to go unto the unknown darkness, or to pour light on life? Was it drunkeness without tasting love, or was it love that made you drunk for no reason? Was it love for you that was losing? or wa sit losing me for love? Was it time that overcame love? Or was it love that made time stand still when you went. Did love freely consume the one loved? Or, was it a lifetime in the heart to know how to hide it. Was love to die? Or to be prepared to die for the one you love? WHAT IS LOVE? If only I knew... is it love than makes me say such silly things, or was it so silly to love,, or was it you .... I cannot understand what love is but, we have been pushed over the edge of a cliff just this once, we are falling into the pit of love, my one and only hope is that you devise a plane and come and save me before I crash on the bottom......

i can just say that, when you fall in love really , trust me you will feel it very deeply in your heart and in your all cells..

Raindrops, interesting. Can you please describe what you mean by this. Love is because of nothing? Hmmm I don´ see what you are saying. 
when we love we just love. we dont know why and for what. most probably of someone asks us, we will start saying: he is kind, he is smart and so on. but there so many kind, smart etc and maybe much better people around. but we love this one particular? why? bec of every characters together. so, bec of everything
why do we love? we dont know, we love at first, we feel comfortable, special, and then start analyzing this effect of other person on us. we love just bec we love. so just for nothing.
love is alfa and omega. bec of everything and bec of nothing. there either is love or not
love is law itself and above all laws and rules of people

i can just say that, when you fall in love really , trust me you will feel it very deeply in your heart and in your all cells..
yes, she will feel. but is it that only one true love? eternity one?

in love and he was not. That after reading cybers´ article on what love really was, that I was not in love after all. I just assumed.
But what I really learned from this is why you all take love so f**king kind to the hear. F**K love.
I am tired and tired and tired and tired of heartbreak after heartbreak of this s**t.
I will be better tomorrow like every other cold-f**king hearted person in this world.
WHY CANT YOU JUST TELL ME THAT LOVE SUCKS? Really, God or Allah or whoever the f**k gives me these feelings, ooooo these feelings, so mush like, like love. THEN HE TAKES LOVE AWAY FROM ME.
Takes love away from you two.
That is it gals. I am going strong with my head high and my feelings ignored.
Love is a ´desired´ illusion. Period. I have no love for love. I am going off this road and into my college studys. Love is a fantasy that is not worth my time.
 Everything is taken from my life.

you really did not love bec even one side love enriches you. or maybe you are not mature enough to understand it. it is your way to learn the life. and you will be better with time.
though, every next time love him as if it was your first time
2.
you get just wrong idea of f... love. one disaster in love wont make you wise, but may make you cynic. it will hide happiness from you in the future.

Amber, whyd o you assume it wasn´t love basing on what other people posted? Does love always have to be reciprocal? Does the fact that you got played mean your emotions were not real? I´d say you should be happy you got to feel the way you did. Do you know some people are so cynical they quench all emotions? They go on pretending all their lives that they´re actually capable of love while, in fact, they aren´t?
Don´t worry about the thing being over - you had something, it made you feel great, now it´s over, next one will come shortly It´s like reading a book or watching a great film, once it´s over you get the feeling you don´t want it to finish. You keep thinking about it for a while, and then you discover a new film.
You´re young, hormonal so it´s easy for you to get so dramatic about everything - either being in love or being verbally vulgar after break up. It´s all ok as long as you don´t do anything stupid, anything that may have long time consequences.
So, instead of feeling bad, focus on your emotions and be glad you experienced something that stirred your blood for a while
