With a three month visa you are not allowed to work. Izmir and Istanbul are very different cities. But they both have expencive and cheaper areas to live in. I would try to find a job first, before moving to Turkey forever. It is hard to find a job as a foreigner if there are a lot of Turkish people who can do the same job.

No Istanbul can be very expencive, Izmir can be expencive. Izmir can be cheap, Istanbul can be cheap. It depends on where your job is, what area you live in.

No I can´t These cities are very big, and have many areas. It´s better to look on Turkish websites that have houses for rent on them.
