I am sure many countries have stuplid pointless laws that hardly anyone knows about still on the statute book.  Here is one of my favourites, feel free to add your own from your country (US has loads I know!!)

It is an offence for failing to report to the authorities, the siting of a grey squirrel....

here is another one,

It is an offence to be drunk in charge of a cow

In Poland men with visible disability cannot be accepted into seminaries (theological colleges preparing for priesthood)

Some Polish cities have fines for swearing in public places

It is illegal to carry objects containing a hidden blade (like boots with knives springing out of the soles or canes with hidden spikes), it is however perfectly legal to walk around with cleavers or 50cm long kitchen knives

Bill on Purity of the Polish Language gives courts the power to sentence people to 30 days of imprisonment for using foreign language in product names, manuals or advertisements

Polish firemen cannot wear moustache if they want to participate in field actions. It is ok for them to have moustache if they deal with paperwork or training

It is illegal to photograph railway stations

I have wonder what prompted some of these laws...but here are some crazy Texas laws:

{#emotions_dlg.lol_fast}

It is illegal to sell one´s eye. (I wonder how many people have broken this law.  Was there ever a time where eye selling was a problem?)

It is illegal to take more than three sips of beer at a time while standing. (2 is fine but if you´re going to go for the third, for God´s sake SIT DOWN!!)

Up to a felony charge can be levied for promoting the use of, or owning more than six dildos. (Wonder how they came up with six?  I guess five is OK, four is better, three is barely offensive, two is perfectly OK, one is practically forgivable...BUT SIX - what a tramp!!)

It is illegal for one to shoot a buffalo from the second story of a hotel. (Buffalo all over Texas breathed a sigh of relief with this one!)

Abilene City Ordanance:  It is illegal to idle or loiter anyplace within the corporate limits of the city for the purpose of flirting or mashing.  (I don´t know what mashing is, but I will remember to keep limit my flirting to church and private property)

Galveston City Ordanance:  Offensive gestures will not be tolerated at any special event. (Any other time is fine!)

Houston City Ordanance:  Beer may not be purchased after midnight on a Sunday, but it may be purchased on Monday. (12:01....anywhere else on the planet this IS Monday....In Texas, we don´t know what this is.  Better wait till sun up to get your beer!)

Libra, this is the best ever topic to talk. Fantastic!

DD, its high time to foribd swearing in Poland, it became unbearable. Almost everyone qu this qu that. Disgusting!

Lisa, Texas is the best! Keep it up!

As for not taking pictures at railway stations it must come from Soviet Union I suppose. Using a private camera at those times was luxurous plus it also meant spying. E.g. you were not allowed to take pictures in Soviet tubes, your camera could be confiscated and films destroyed together with all previous ones.

Found this website about stupid laws all around the world. Don´t know how true some of them are but the site is:   http://www.stupidlaws.com/

Here are some from Turkey:

Stealing olives before they are ripe can result in a jail sentence of up to 2 years. (I guess I will steal oranges!)

It is illegal for men over the age of 80 to become pilots. (Duh!  Probably one of the more rational laws in Turkey.)

It is against the law to fall in love with a neighbors son, daughter, wife, servant or any of his animals.  (But I love that goat!)

Some from my home state of Rhode Island:

Any marriage where either of the parties is an idiot or lunatic is null and void. -SECTION 11-40-1 (SAVED!!)

It is illegal to place a windmill within twenty-five (25) rods of any traveled street or road.  (This is why the Dutch don´t care for Rhode Island!)

It is illegal to challenge someone to a duel, or accept a duel, even it it is never actually fought. Penalty: Imprisonment for one to seven years.  (This is partly why I moved to Texas.  I would like to preserve my right to duel as I please!)
