Right! Forget about the diets! Just stick to some practical guidelines:
- Eat slowly, it takes time for the brain to think you have eaten enough.
- Drink water before the meal and don´t drink it when eating. Drink 1.5/2 lts of water a day and drink it along the day.
- Eat more veggies. At least one main course should be veggies. It takes 2 hours to digest veggies compared 4 hours for meats. veggies have less calories and keep you filled longer
- Eat fruits in small portions. Half of a banana, a small apple for example.
- Do not eat sweets more than once or twice a week and prefer light ones like "sütlaç" "muhallebi", "kazandibi" etc.
- Take fats moderately. 4-5 spoons of olive oil a day should be enough.
- Don´t give up eating carbonhydrates. 60% of daily intake should be carbonhydrates.
- Do not eat late. You should have your dinner by 1900.

- Do not eat sweets more than once or twice a week and prefer light ones like "sütlaç" "muhallebi", "kazandibi" etc.
- Take fats moderately. 4-5 spoons of olive oil a day should be enough. Are you saying little spoon like you use for stirring you tea?
- Don´t give up eating carbonhydrates. 60% of daily intake should be carbonhydrates. This is too much! Carbohydrates turn to fat if not burn up!!
- Do not eat late. You should have your dinner by 1900.

Fatness is not our fault (well at least completely). According to D. Brownell, Nutrisional acts and obesity center director, Yale, it´s not easy to not get fat in today´s world where the fast food chains offer cheaper food than the restaurants where you can eat healty food. On the other hand long working hours before the computer screens without any physical activity is another factor. Due to both parent working, veggies have long been replaced by frozen food. Kids no longer play in streets but sit and play computer games in homes.

I agree that today´s lifestyle and eating culture make it easier to grow fat. However it´s not totally true it means we are not to blame. Some people manage to keep a healthy weight despite everything. Sure, for some people it´s easier - they may eat junk, hardly ever exercise and still be slim. But for others keeping a good BMI is hard work. It doesn´t help to come up with excuses. If you´re fat, you are to blame (unless of course it´s a medical condition like thyroid gland problem or hormonal medicine). It´s the same with drug addicts or alcoholics - the fact that bad things are out there within your reach, does not justify your using them without control
