There had been a grave abuse of process in the case brought against him by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) he insisted righteously. The police and the SFO had conspired against him, placing the judge in his case under improper pressure, making false allegations of corruption against him and his advisers and seizing documents vital to his defence, was his virtuous claim.

´´I´m hoping to get a fair trial, if this matter goes to trial, obviously,´´ he said as he boarded a London bound aeroplane last week. Holding up his hands in a nothing-to-hide gesture, he added: ´´That was not the case in the past.´´
