Quoting deli:

well im still waiting for some good suggestions for good cds i should buy in turkey

Erhm ofcourse Sezen Aksu!!! But I must admit for some songs i need lyrics to hear what she says, but i think that you should buy her cds anyhow.

Furthermore i think Nilüfer (her older cds, i dont know about hte new ones) has a pretty clear voice and good pronounciation and also Teoman. His songs are not slow, but he has a pretty bright voice and articulates well. I can understand many words he says, or at least, i can hear them and then look them up in the sözlük

Whether you think Yeni Türkü is good, just depends on if you like türküler or not. I really like them myself, and i think Yeni Türkü is pretty good, but i can't recommend you an album, sorry.

And if you like Tarkan, try Mustafa Sandal and Gökhan Özen albums.

First I have to apoligise I should have said Tarkan in English sounds feminine not gay. He is great and his music is excellent so I don't really care about his sexuality but I hope he records in Turkish next time.
I have collected several of his cds over the years but DuDu is definately my favourite and I can sing along to it even though I've not a clue about the words :-S
We also have Oldrum Sana, Tarkan, Karma and Come Closer, I have bought lots in Turkey but also on ebay auction site I recommend you buy all you can Enjoy your trip whish I was going.
