Hi to all the people here in this site.

I am from Greece. I am new in Turkish Language Class and I am really interested in learning Turkish. I live in Athens, where I will start Turkish lessons in a private languages school. I teach english and german, I speak italian, I am learning arabic at the moment too and I really intent to get a good knowledge of the turkish language, which I find really nice and melodic. I also like turkish songs and music in general.

I have visited Istanbul 2 times in the past and I am planning to visit it next May too.  I have stayed in Sultanahmet and I really loved the atmosphere of the place.

I wish everybody all the best. I feel so happy to be here.

Kisses from Athens

Welcome Eyvenia,

A couple of years ago, I spent a day in Athens. Your rich archelogical museum and Acropolis took so much time to see which left behind little time to get to know the city but I did eat at Pilaki, saw this unique brandy bar with bottles of all colors and travelled a bit around Athens. On the whole, the city did not feel very foreign to me. It is a bit like Izmir. The holiday places are a lot calmer. The islands reminded me of our Bodrum, Marmaris or Kusadasi 30 years ago.

Everyone I met there cautioned me against the EU. They kept saying neighbor stay away from the EU, it has ruined our lives. I don´t know how you feel about it but I also think the EU was a very bad idea.

Selam vineyards,

I would like to thank you a lot for your message. I am glad that you have visited Athens, even if that was only for one day. I hope you will be able to visit the city or other places in Greece in the future, inshallah.

As far as my opinion about the EU is concerned, I really don´t know if that was good or bad. I am not really an expert on politics. The only thing I know is that the situation in my country is an unpleasant and difficult one at the moment. And if you want my opinion, I really don´t know if this is happening because of the EU or because of other political or various factors. So I am not really an expert on the subject. Hehe!!! The only thing I know is that Greece has to overcome the situation as soon as possible, because greek people face a difficult situation and this is unfair for us as a nation. I also hope no other country to be obliged to deal with problems like that. Because every single person on this planet has the right to live a safe, secure and peacefull life.

I send you my warmest wishes from Athens and I hope Allah protects you and all Turkey in these insecure times we live.

My best regards from Athens

Can you tell us about the crisis you are going through a little bit more? We don´t know what is happening in Greece. When I was there things were looking normal. Although, I remember seeing a protest gathering in the street.

By the way, I misspelled Plaka.

Hi again, vineyards!

First of all, don´t worry about "Plaka". I understood it. Hehehe! As for the crisis, you are right, things seem to be normal to a foreigner. However, some things have changed so much, like the cost of living, which has increased, or the fact that many people lose their jobs, because businesses are closing down. You know things like that. And the other more importand thing, according to my opinion, is the psycological status of people who feel depressed because of the negative situation of the country.

However, people try to be strong, continue their lives and try to overcome all the difficulties.

I hope we will make it!!!
