Hi all,i made flashcards of the top 1000 most common turkish words..this mean you learn first the most common used words, and going on,on the last you learn the less used,so when you learn the first 100-200 words you can well be comfortable to understand a slow speeking turkish person and even some the turkish films,television..then when you are ready with all words (obviously you need also a good turkish grammar knowing) you will understand also a normal speed turkish speaker, but you need also immersion in..for this try to look if not always at least the most times the turkish television series and even films,if you can know turkish people and keep in contact with them for practicise the language, and chat with turkish people (this just as you have a little turkish basics) even if this can seem to you at the beginning not natural, but with the time:days or few weeks you will feel enough natural in the turkish language.

For the flascards software just go here at this link: http://keepinhead.com/

Then you have two choices,if you want the flashcards software on your pc click on the blue button where it is wrote to download to pc,otherwise click the other blue button to download the application to your phone (the phone flashcard software is free, but the pc software is 14 days trial)

Then as you downloaded you need to make an account, when you have made the account on your phone open the flashcards application, after the demo explanation (if you click yes to let you show that) choose the first menu "Manage & Study",then "Create new" and follow the instruction to create a new folder, now your folder is created, but you need to validate your account on the application, for do this go back to the main menu, then "Settings",then "Email and password",now enter the respetively email and password of the account you created, then "Validate account";as your account is verificated go again back in the main menu,"Manage & Study",on the folder you created click the left option "Actions",scroll down and click on "Download more flashcards",left option "insert" and then insert this number:6657

Then it will download the turkish flashcards..(for the connection you must use the wifi or gprs/umts phone connection)

Alternatively you can synchronize the phone with the pc flashcards software (before you must download the turkish flashcards to the pc software).

Anyway here is the link of the turkish flashcards (they are explained in english on the side b):

http://www.keepinhead.com/flashcards-vocabulary/6657-turkish.html

If you have questions just ask

UPDATE:

I found a better software who doesn´t block on certain phones and requires no internet connection (on the phone) like the other one, about the pc software this is a FREE one,no trial

I passed over again my night (and nearly morning..) to create again the flashcards for this program who is more complicate and laborious,it took me lot of hours to create csv files manually, then convert them to the flashcard software filetype, but it has now done..

The phone download link is:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/minipauker/files/minipauker/1.1.1/MiniPauker_1.1.1-custommenu.jar/download

The pc download link is:

http://pauker.sourceforge.net/

(the pc must have java)

And the flashcards link is (zip) (you must then copy/move the unzipped folder/files to your phone if you use the phone..if not you can open these too with the pc pauker flashcards software):

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4QJOI1UY

 enjoy!

I´ve downloaded the app on my mobile phone and it worked

It´s really helpful for beginners like me. Thank you for your effort. Regards.

Forgot to mention, the only thing was when I signed up and was required to enter the languages I´m interested in and accidentally I clicked Italian as my native language (I´m Indonesian). But that didn´t trouble the whole downloading Turkish flashcard process.

You are welcome

I forgot to say that i made an error in the flashcards of the first software (that i changed in good manner in the second) and if you use the first you must change the side B of the word "O" to "he,she,it" instead of "that" even you can say this too but is more used for he,she or it.

Hey there!  The flash cards sound great... do you think you could repost them, since MegaUpload got taken down?   (I know it´s been a while, but it would be really helpful!)

You could go to the first link mentioned then copy and paste them into excel, which is what I did. Then, you can make free flashcards by using your google docs account and gflash+ or similar phone apps.

osmantekin, I want to thank you so much for your hard work! I really appreciate it, and it´s making my life a lot easier, as I intend to organize these 1,000 words into categories to make them easier to memorize, e.g., verbs and adjectives.

Along with what you mentioned about "o" and its translation, I wanted to bring two things to everyone´s attention:

The following word was not in the list, perhaps purposefully because everyone probably already knows what it means (I write this because I spent some time trying to figure out why my list was only 999 long instead of 1,00:

251. Allah

Also, I think the following word should be biçim instead of nullçim, as it says on your list:

248. biçim

Regardless of these few mistakes (after all, which human doesn´t make mistakes?), I found your list to be the most helpful to convert to customized flashcards online. Thanks again!

Hi, sorry for not being active all this time!! I had no internet access because of personal matters. I just moved 2 years ago here in Rome (Italy) and now have full access to a fast (very) internet connection. I want to atone for my guiltiness from now on! I´m now a newborn entrepreneur with 2 projects already completed and others coming the way, like an open source alternative to Pimsleur. But i´ll tell more in another post to not overwhelm your reading.

Now let´s reply. I wish i had my old (bulky & loudy) pc, but in my departing to north europe (5 years ago) couldn´t bring it with me {#emotions_dlg.confused} i just brought my first laptop which obviously had no data (i know i know, a usb card could have saved it´s fate, but who thought megaupload would come down?! {#emotions_dlg.head_bang}..i assure you this was a lesson for me)..I´ll redo such "app" asap.

Bytheway i´m happy i made someone work/life easier, at least didn´t do the nightwork for nothing!! Haha yes i just didn´t recheck everything twice before posting mainly because this was "nightwork", but thank you for the corrections Smile speaking about nullçim, i think it was a software error {#emotions_dlg.lol_fast} what i did was organize a massive amount of text and process them through a frequency analysis.

Check out this page for explanations of noun forms: http://www.turkishclass.com/turkish_lesson_66

It confuses subject and object form, but other than that it´s a good explanation.
