I´ve just watched the contestants and I have nobody to vote for, didn´t like any of the songs. The Polish commentator, summarising the Turkish song, said "it´s the band that imprisoned a poor tourist who wanted to go to the Turkish Riviera". The level of the joke is basically a reflection of the level of this year´s contest. Is it me or has Eurovision been getting worse and worse ever since they let people sing in any language they want?

Turkey didn´t go through? :O That´s a surprise, they alwyas go through! I think it´s because only the countries participating in the semi-finals were allowed to vote

Who CARES Eurovision ? it is a rubbish event after all which became political in the last 15 years... Eastern European Countries vote for eachother,songs are lacking quality and today I agree that jokes made by the presenter was not funny but giving stomach ache..the organisation was disappointing..

I am not saying this because Turkey hasnt qualified, I am saying this because even this annual song contest lost its magic just like Europe itself..

I havent watched the contest, just learned from a newspaper that TR eliminated, and people criticizing the costume of the Y.Sadakat

Of course the contest is, as they say here, a lot of bollix and the votes are political. It´s cheap entertainment, nothing more. 90% of the singers sound terrible live and most of the songs are awful, but the whole idea is to give something light to talk about all around Europe. Just think about it, millions of people around Europe are watching the same thing and then use the Internet to talk about it. Isn´t it fascinating? (sure, it would be better if people could be united by something with more - or any for that matter - artistic value but, hey, what can we do about it)

This year´s Turkish song is much better for my musical taste compared to the last year´s song which came second in the final. I guess I have a different kind of taste.

I didn´t watch the last night´s final but sounds like Turkey´s absence caused Azeris get more votes.

Well, well, well, I tried my best to like the winning song but it was a no go. Azeris are related to Turks or maybe they are even more Turkish than we are but the song they came up with hardly represents their culture. They sound like an amateur band from say Sweden or Ukraine.

There were subtle references to the last year´s Azeri entry which was a better song rendered by a better singer. Though they share the same teenager theme, it was a more listenable song.

It is impossible to explain the lack of quality in this multimillion dollar organization when the streets of all major cities are full of cool musicians...
