Is it still true that women in Turkey are not supposed to marry or have boyfriends if they are widowed or divorced and still have children at home? Or was it ever true?

It would really depend on the family or indiviual´s opinion.  I haven´t run across many Turkish people who have a bad attitude about divorced or widowed women.  I have also never heard any hard, fast rules about not dating while there are children still at home....but again this is a very individual thing.  Some families/individuals are very old fashioned and don´t think it is appropriate while others don´t think it is a problem.  If there is one thing I have learned about Turkey is that it is impossible to generalize about anything!
