binmek-binip.Grammar

Hello
I don´t know what means "bir taksiye binip."
I think, it´s mean  "To get on a taxi"
I knew binmek but what about binip?
please suggest me. thanks for your time.

For example imagine this conversation:

(Telefonda) Çabuk buraya gel = (On the phone) Come here asap

Ama nasıl = But how?

Bir taksiye binip = Get inside a taxi and ... (come)

I think...

 

...this is not a complete sentence. -ip- form of a verb combined with a finite form of another verb means to do this and to do that. For example

 

Taksiye binip buraya gel. ´Get into the taxi and come here.´

Adam taksiye binip cebinden telefonu çıkardı. ´The man got into the taxi and took the telephone from his pocket.´

the full sentence is  sonra Amerikalı aileye hoşçakalın dedikten sonra.bir taksiye binip doğru New yorker oteli´ne gittiler.

they got in a taxi and went straightly to New yorker hotel.
