Anyways, do you know her? Did you break her heart or something?

Neyse, onu tanıyor musun ? Onun kalbini falan kırdın mı ?

She will not give me any information, and I stopped talking to her and removed her from my friends list.

Bana herhangi bir bilgi vermiyordu. Ben de onunla konuşmayı kestim ve arkadaş listemden sildim onu.

ne yapmam gerektiği konusunda emin değilim..
May I ask how to analyse this structure? gerektiği must be a form of the verb gerekmek, a participle, but is there a possessive suffix or an accusative ending in it? emin olmak takes ablative, it can´t be the reason.

Besides, if someone would bother to explain the syntactic use of gerek and gerekmek more widely I guess it would be useful. It often confuses  -  me at least.

Let me try:

ne  yap-ma-m  gerek- tik-i  konu-su-n-da  emin  değil-im

i is possesive suffix

I am not sure about emin olmak has to always take ablative.

Quoting Abla

And what brings it there?

(benim) ne yapmam gerektiği konusunda (this is a noun phrase)

im is a connection suffix and it needs partners which have possesive suffixes.

It is fatal for understanding to stare at individual words instead of whole phrases. It sometimes happens to me. But what confused me was that I couldn´t see the ablative anywhere. I found an example which is a little bit similar:

Hangi teslimat tarihlerini seçmem gerektiğinden emin değilim.

When I made my syntax courses in the faculty (a little bit after Prophet Noah finished building his arch) we never analysed sentences linearly. We wrote the words in a pile, one word in a line like

         Hangi

         teslimat

         tarihlerini

         seçmem etc.

It was easy to mark the phrases and how they were connected to each other. Sometimes I feel like doing the same with Turkish sentences now. Colours can express the same thing maybe but it is still not the same for me.
