Some more information for learners

yol = road, path, way (ipek yolu = the silk road)

yolcu = traveller, someone on the road

yolculuk = journey, trip, travelling

Turks often use the iyi   ......lar/ler  combination to mean ´I wish you ...., Have a good ......., good ......

iyi günler = good day, have a nice day, I wish you a good day

iyi akşamlar = good afternoon/ good evening, have a nice evening, etc

iyi geceler = good evening/ good night, have a nice night, etc

iyi uykular = have a good sleep, sleep well

tatlı rüyalar = sweet dreams, I hope you have pleasant dreams

iyi tatiller = have a nice holiday

iyi yolculuklar = have a nice trip, I wish you a good voyage

iyi bayramlar = (have a) happy festival

iyi şanslar = good luck, I wish you good luck

iyi dilekler = best wishes, regards
