Quoting Trudy:

I posted this already in another topic but maybe it is of use here as well:

For information about terrorism threats, traffic dangers, bird flu, robbery and other disasters see: http://www.fco.gov.uk/servlet/Front?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/ShowPage&c=Page&cid=1007029390590&a=KCountryAdvice&aid=1013618386532

personally, i think that if we always thought about things like this we would never leave our front door..and then we could be at risk in other ways it's good 2 be prepared but like people said in the other thread there is such a thing as being too cautious.

I travelled to Istanbul on my own in october and i will be doing the same at the end of this month.I did meet my fiance once i was there but never the less i found the actual travelling to be very easy, comfortable,no problems at all.I would just suggest using common sence and always be alert of what your doing.

Hehe! So, basically you travelled TO Turkey on your own, but not THROUGH Turkey on your own eh?

Well, I am cautious in the meaning I use my common sense but not too cautious because preparing every step I will make will take away all the fun of travelling on my own.
I did travel several times solo, in Turkey and other countries. Nothing ever happened.

My diary of that 37-day trip is coming up. I'm waiting for friends who offered to check my translation on English grammar (it's not my native language, so I make mistakes I don't want to). When they did that I will post it as an essay, okay?

Opps! Gulp...really sorry Trudy......I didn't have time before my holiday and I must admit I completely forgot about it.
