Interesting video.

..."none escape the ravages of time". At least, when one dies young, the memory of the pretty face remains intact.

It´s always amazed me, when I looked at photos of my elder relatives, how that could have happened. How could that beautiful young woman with the plump cheeks, holding a rosebud, could be the shriveled woman in front of me?

The big mistake is to see the old woman only as a fragile oldster. It is all inside of her: the little girl, the young bride, the adult woman in her strength and bloom.

How right you are, dear Abla, the longer I live the more I realize that. It´s just others do not recognize the youth inside me.

I wonder why, when most the time people die, they show photos of them as old shriveled people. Nobody sees themselves like that. We see ourselves much younger, and more attractive than we are. If course, when one is an adolescent, that is another thing.

It´s always good to find youthful photographs of the elders one knows, to see their self perception.

As I age, I´m amazed at the transformations of those I´ve known a long time. It would have been all but unimaginable when they were young. I wonder how accurate those programs that are used to age missing children are?.

One of the most touching memories I have of my own mother is from a couple of years ago when she was still able to memorize songs and poems from her childhood. There was a long poem about a little girl who skied through the forest in a dark winter night. Only the moon and stars gave light to her path. From a distance the girl saw a light from her home and looking at it filled her heart with joy. As soon as she opened the door of that tiny cottage she felt the warmth and with shining eyes greeted those who were inside: "Mother! Father!"

The same shining was in that old woman´s face when she repeated the verses to us. I wish I could have saved that moment.

Actually, she in fantastic condition, for her age. At 87 most look quite a bit more used up. She is a bit plump, not terribley though. Her husband, Prince Phillip is in spectacular condition as well, for his age.

I guess that´s what access to great resources get you.
