What did everyone think of the Oscars this year? Did you watch? Why, why not?
Besides some fundamental criticisms of the Hollywood and the movie industry.. I was appalled by that guy who was leading the Oscars this year, what an embarassement, lack of class and intelligence.
And I was really happy that Ann Hathaway won! She´s such a genius actress and super beautiful and intelligent person.

I watched Lincoln. I thought Daniel Day Lewis was fantastic so as Tommy Lee Jones. When I read about how DD Lewis prepared for his roles, (which can be read from here http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/daniel-day-lewis-five-facts-man-beneath-lincoln-235507276.html?page=all) I really respected him.
What is it with Ann Hathaway? A girl crush? And what are these rumors of ´nipplegate´?

I watched Silver Linings Playbook, it was also really good, depicting some of the problems that people with mental illnesses face. The two main characters were very good and at least this time it was the woman who got the Oscar!!

I am not a big fan of awards shows but have seen Lincoln and Argo. Thought watching Lincoln was like watching grass grow but Argo was pretty good.
Not sure why/how the Oscar panel decides who they choose but for an industry that reaches millions and can have a platform to do so much good, they seem to prefer to squander the opportunity in favor of a few cheap thrills.

No, I did not watch it. It´s too hyped up, phony and too much uber glitz for my taste. I do enjoy seeing the gowns, but I don´t have to watch the show to see them. I watched Downtown Abby instead.
Oscar Gowns In particular I liked Halle Berry, Jane Fonda and Nicole Kidman´s gowns

What?!?!?! Your link thought that Salma Hayek, Catherine Zeta Jones, Helen Hunt, Jennifer Garner were badly dressed?? Seems so random what they say.
I was not a big fan of Halle Berry´s dress, but I think she tried to look like Michael Jackson a little bit, don´t you think?

I am putting Argo on my to-watch list!

Yes, I agree with you. Who are they to decide anyway? I admire the skill of the garment makers. People have no idea of the work and skill going into the production of those dresses.
I worked in that industry for a few years in NYC and had a chance to see and work on them from close up.
