Ama sadece bir haftalığına.

According to this website: http://www.goethe-verlag.com/book2/EM/EMTR/EMTR023.HTM

this means "Only for a week, though."  I don´t understand the suffixes on the word hafta.  Google translates it as "weeks".

hafta = week

haftalık = weekly, by the week, per week, once a week

if you add another suffix to haftalık that begins with a vowel, then the final k mutates to a ğ

haftalık + ı (his/her/its) + n (buffer) + a (dative suffix) = haftalığına

My guess is that the full sentence is missing a final verb, or the context from the previous sentence should give the complete meaning.

see some examples here

So the meaning needs to be understood from the whole/previous sentence.

(I will be away, I am working, She is visiting, etc) ...... but only for a week

Hope this helps Smile

hafta: week

hafta-lık: weekly

hafta-lık-ı-(n)-a: per week/for a week

hafta = week

bir hafta =one week

The scope of -lik makes diffrence here:

hafta-lık = weekly

bir hafta-lık = for one week

I had given a similar example earlier somewhere here:

gece = night

gece-lik = (a) night dress

bir gece-lik = for one night

So,

Ama sadece bir haftalığına = But only for one week (of it)
