Conditional  inferential mood

Verb stem + se [sa] + mIş + personal suffix

1. Making  hypothetical statements of past that is most likely to happen with condition.

O otobüse binseymişim belki şu an ölmüştüm.

Imagine, if I had gotten that bus I would have been dead now.

[ I missed that bus, and now I learned that the bus got crashed in an accident and many people got killed in it, most possibly I might have been one of them if I didnt miss it [the bus] ]

2. Making  a conditional statement of  regret because of missed chance in the past.

Tüm paramı altına yatırsaymışım şu an çok param olurdu.

If I had invested all my money in gold, I would have made a lot of money now.

[because the gold prices gone up alot lately ]

3. Making a statement of  unconcernedness & giving message of uncaring for someone and his/her action.

Gelseymiş ! Kim engellemiş onu ?

Who stopped him coming ? [ That´s  choice of him/her  by not coming, nobody stopped him/her  coming ]

Sinava çalışsaymış, napıyım ? --->  What can I do  ?  He/She should have studied the exam. I don´t care !
