What is proper use of sağol and teşekkürler?

Is it like; when someone f.x. pick something you dropped on the floor up for you, do something nice for you for instance, you use sağol? And that teşekkürler is more like "thanks" in every other ways?

We use thanks=teşekkürler in formal way,

abd we use sağol with the same mean teşekkür  in informal and  in sincerely meaning.

Teşekkürler = Thanks (Formal)

Teşekkür Ederim = Thank You(Formal)

Sağol = Sağ+Ol (Alive+Be = Be Alive) = Stay Alive (informal)
