What is the age limit to learn a new language?

As a language tutor, I come across this question frequently. The answer to this is "No". The age never becomes a drawback to learn a new language. Children can learn easily because they don´t have anything in their mind. Whereas adults can learn a language easily through their experience. Learning a new language will make you noticable.

Yes it is quite sad that people think that age can detoriate their cognitive abilities. I think that it might be a good idea to learn with the excitement and imagination just as a child picks up language. For instance I found this article that details all 1200 words that native turkish speakers of up to age 6 know. It is quite interesting and may be of use to the turkish learners here. I have posted it below just in case anyone was interested.

I know I have posted this link (see below) before but I think it relates to your topic of how its never too late to start learning and aquisition requires alot of effort but is very rewarding in the end even if you never need to use the language. I once heard about this Australian lady who had learnt Italian just for fun through self-study. She did not go to Italy or have an Italian partner but she would speak with Italian Australian shopskeepers and read and watch Italian literature and film.It is so much fun to learn just for the fun of it

Here is one more article which will motivate our readers. This article highlights a point saying "There is no age that can stop you from learning new things".
