Hello, guys!

I´m trying to read Orhan Pamuk´s novel Kara Kitap and have stumbled on the following sentence where I have a grammar question.

Kitap, bir geceyarısı, İstanbul´un arka sokaklarından BIRINI tasvirle açılıyor.

Why the objective case in BIRINI?

If I´m not mistaken the sentence means somewhat like

The book begins with a picture of one of Istanbul´s back streets at midnight.

Correct me if I´m wrong.

Thank you in advance.

with portraying  [certain] one of Istanbul´s back streets,

 İstanbul´un arka sokaklarından birini tasvirle

 with portraying  a certain one of  them  = birini  tasvirle ]

n = buffer

This sentence doesn´t sound right to me. I would rewrite it as "Kitap, bir geceyarısı, İstanbul´un arka sokaklarından BİRİNİN tasviri ile açılıyor.

two sentences (in turkish) are right, but second one is most correct.

...birinin tasviriyle (or tasviri ile) açılıyor.
