I found sentence like this:

Acele edip hatalar yapmaktansa acele etmemen daha iyidir.

yapmaktansa what does it mean?
Also could you please give me some more examples.

Thank you in advance.

So the summary of this sentence is something along the lines of it is better to not rush rather than to rush. the yapmaktansa is yapmak which is to do, plus -tan which is a form of the -from postposition. and the sa is the third person (o) suffix for the -if tense. However it would seem in this sentence they are using the -if ending to imply the word rather instead of if. So you can read the yapmaktansa as a "rather than do".  yapmak(do)+tan(from/than)+sa(if/rather)

Disclaimer I´m not an expert! hopefully someone fluent will reply with something better than mine.
