Hi!
I´ve noticed that often with verbs there are me or ma, but its not negative?
For example, On dakika önce odasını temizlemeyi bitirdi. I believe its saying ten minutes ago he finished cleaning his room. What I´m confused by in the temizlemeyi, I know that temizlemek is to clean, but I´m confused by the meyi. The me makes me think it´s negative but I dont think it is?

Hi, yes this is something that often causes confusion with people learning Turkish. Your translation is correct. In this case the verb temizlemek has changed into a (verbal) noun ´temizlemeyi´ with an accusative suffix.
If you think of the meaning as ´the cleaning´ of the room, where ´the cleaning´ is an event (noun) rather than an action (verb).
Ages ago I read an explanation, which helped me understand better, that
temizlemek + accusative suffix (i) = temizlemeği (k to ğ mutation when followed by a vowel)
and over time I was told this had morphed into = temizlemeyi
