I am new member Svetlana I have first question, I am studying English at Oxford and have met some Turkish friends when I visit last year to Dalaman. My brother Artem who is also at college in England studying English law met a Turkish lady while he was at college she has gone back to Turkey. We have now lived in England for over five years going back to our homeland as often as we can we are now English citizens although we are Russian. He wants to visit her in Dalaman but is unable to find time to do so, he suggest she come here does she need visa and is it hard to come to England for her? she is also working in law but she is police officer, he wants to know what happen can anyone help?

to enter the U.K a visa is required.There are various types of visa but i think she could apply for a visitors visa,which is valid for three months.she would have to apply from Turkiye(this rule has only been in force for the past 2/3 years,previous to that it was possible to apply from the destination country).The application process is a simple one from my experience,just provide the Embassy with as much information as possible,go for an interview,which the Embassy will arrange,the clearance officer will ask a lot of questions to clarify the information given prior to the interview,then a decision is usually issued on the day,this is as far as i know however it is better to check directly with the Embassy concerned as International Law is always changing.In recent times the entry clearance system has made it increasingly difficult for people to gain visas,and you may have to be prepared to wait a while for a result.
