Senin yeni iÅŸ nasıl gidiyor? Ilginç veya hayır? Kolay veya zor mu?

How is your new job going? Interesting or not? Easy or difficult.

Thank you

Polyglot, I believe you would use yoksa instead of veya. It´s tricky because in English veya is or and yoksa is otherwise.

Is veya wrong here? Is Yoksa better?

What is the difference between veya and yoksa

My understanding, yoksa is for questions and is when only one of the 2 are possible. Whereas veya is kind of like ´either´.

(x)-mi (y)-mi?

This is the most used question pattern for a sentence consisting of two words (two options) which are contrast or alternative to each other:

yazı mı tura mı? -- (coin flipping) heads or tails?

beyazı mı siyahı mı? -- the white one or the black one?

In such a sentence (though it is not necessary) yoksa can be used in order to emphasize the difference between the two options.

beyazı mı yoksa siyahı mı? hangisini kullanmam isteniyor? -- the white one or the black one? which one of them am I supposed to use?

veya/ ya da is not used to form a question sentence.

bu veya ÅŸu -- either this or that

a question sentence may follow it.

sıcak ya da soğuk - nasıl istersin? -- hot or cold - how would you like it?

yoksa mainly used as a sentence connector.

yok => not

ise => if

yok ise => yoksa => if not

bir yere yaz, yoksa unutursun -- write it down, if not you´ll forget it.
