İn generally which tenses are same in both Türkçe ve İngilizce, and which are different ?
İn previous thread, was said, there is no past participle Türkçede
But i found this form at winMekMak
Yemiş....who ate,who has eaten
And it came with O and Onlar only ,so we cann't say Yemisim ??
Same thing with those suffix (en) (recek) aren't they tenses and we use all kişi eki with them like all tenses??
Cann't they take , ben,sen,biz,siz ?? :-S

Try pressing F3 in WinMekMak and typing the same word......it gives a better translation as being the reported past tense. I do not fully understand how this tense is used but on these forums it has been described as using it is as if you are writing an encyclopaedia!

Yemek in "reported past tense" is shown in WinMekMak as:
ben ye-miş-im
- It's said that I ate
sen ye-miş-sin
o ye-miş
biz ye-miş-iz
siz ye-miş-siniz
onlar ye-miş-ler
As far as I know all are valid forms.

Quoting CANLI: check it at WinMekMak at the participle then
With(miş (r) (en) (ecek)
Why its different ? |
Yes - I understand that the two are written the same. However, they have different meanings depending on context. I am trying to remember how this was explained to me :-S
I think it is soemthing like this:
Mehmet buraya yürümüş - it is said that Mehmet walked here (meaning: I think, but don't know for sure, that Mehmet walked here)
bende yapılmıştır - made by me.
Don't take my word on these examples but hopefully they will point you in the right direction - and others will correct!!!

Ok,i got what you mean now
So we would use bende ,sende... to refer to the subject
Anladım ,ama
Why you wrote it yapılmıştır ? tır here is (dIr) suffix, yes ?
So we can also say bende yapılmış
Doğru mu ?

the house made by me: benim tarafımdan yapılan/yapılmış ev
it is made by me: bu, benim tarafımdan yapılmıştır
Normally, if you give an encyclopedical or very formal information, you may use -dır , like i did.
But here, if you get clear of -dır, it sound like "someone said that i did it, but i didnt know that i did." << something unlogic...
-mış is always, "someone said, but i have just heard/knew it"
Ali gitmiş:
Ali has gone but i have just heard that from someone else.
Ali gitti:
Ali has gone and i saw him while he was going.

İ cann't understand well when we use Belirsiz Geçmiş Zaman 'Reported past'(mIş ) and Geniş Zaman 'Aorist' (r) Türkçede
İ thought Geniş Zaman is like present simple in English,we use is when we want to imply a fact is happening
But when i use it in translation and ask for correction, mostly
İ find using the Geniş Zaman wasn't the right thing
So when do we use both tenses ?
